Nathan Wysock, a music faculty member at Lawrence University in
Wisconsin and a 1995 bachelor of Music graduate of Illinois State
University, will present a Guest Artist Series recital at 7:30 p.m. Monday,
Feb. 19, in Kemp Recital Hall. Admission is $5.
Wysock, who received the doctor of musical arts degree and master of music degree from the Eastman School of Music, will present a 1 p.m. master class in Kemp that day. He is a former student of Illinois State s Angelo Favis.
An avid performer of both solo and ensemble repertoire, Wysock has performed in competitions in the United States and abroad. He has been a featured performer on Wisconsin Public Radio and is a member of L ensemble Portique, a group dedicated to both early and modern music. He recently premiered wrecked angels by Geoffrey Gordon, a work for flute, cello and guitar.
Wysock s scholarly work includes lecture recitals on tango composer Astor Piazzolla and 19th century guitarist Victor Magnien. Prior to joining the Lawrence faculty, Wysock was on the faculty of several community programs, the secondary guitar program at the Eastman School of Music and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.
